The Art of Celebration Revolve Gallery, showcasing the best contemporary Northern artists, celebrated its first birthday in Clitheroe with a day of indulgence. Artists including Ken Smith, Chris McLoughlin and Ian Norris were in the gallery all day giving advice to budding professional artists and fans of their work, and the food and drink had a distinctly Northern theme. Sophia Smith of Revolve Gallery said: “It was a great way say thank you to both our artists and clients for our fabulous first year in Clitheroe. What better way than five wonderful hours of Northern indulgence in the gallery? We laid on Northern food including smoked salmon from Wellgate Fisheries, homemade Yorkshire parkin a-la James Martin, Cowman's sausages and Wood's Butter & Lancashire hot pot pies. All the wine was from the Whalley Wine Shop and the soft drinks from Fitzpatricks. We raffled a Lancashire Cheese Bomb from Cheesie Tchaikovsky too.” Sophia added: “We have also made one of the gallery walls into scenes of Lancashire to celebrate the beauty of our county.” Revolve Gallery is open from 10:30am until 5:30pm, Tuesday to Saturday. You are invited to browse, buy or just enjoy Northern art at Revolve Gallery, 30 Castle Street, Clitheroe.
